John Rawls, a famous, late-twentieth century philosopher, developed a theory of justice that looked at the way in which choices are made in society. In order for justice to prevail amid egoistic choices is to guarantee that the procedure for choosing is itself always fair. His idea was the Original Position, which is held under the conditions of the Veil of Ignorance. Below are some links that you can view to get a better understanding of how society could organize itself fairly by following rules that are generated from a fair, choice procedure.
