Food consumes us. We are so interested in food because it is the ultimate dynamic of human interaction in today's world. Food can comfort us, love us, hate us, be there for us, bring joy to us, and is the social buffer for us. People want to know how food can bring people all the things listed above, because it is very unique in that certain foods can brighten or darken one's day. The aspect they are willing to watch is the creation of this social buffer. These food channels are addicting because it is quite amazing how these chefs can create food that can effect a person's mood, outlook, and mental state of life. And people, possibly, want this power, the power to alter someone's outlook on life just by making some food.

The society we live in today is driven by curiosity and development. When selecting a food one wants to know what he or she is eating and many other details that relate to the food. Some of these details are specified as: food group, nutritional value, location of food production, etc. Although many people are curious about the food they eat, they do not know the process the food went through to become consumer ready. Therefore many are not willing to understand the gruesome details that go into final production of a food. For example, when I scarf down bacon in the morning, I don’t want to think or watch the pig that had to be slaughtered to produce it. There are many other examples of non-human friendly activities that go into producing some popular food in this society.

Food is a common measure of who a person is. Regardless of gender, nationality, region, or recipe, food is the one facet that is shared through each and every corner of the universe. Food brings people together whether they are under the same roof or not even on the same continent. Our food is something we can enjoy and celebrate and it’s something that we can be proud of. I’m sure that you can easily tell me what your mother’s signature recipe is or what your hometown calls “the best around.” But can you tell me the preferred delicacy of a Hárkal, Iceland or what someone in Tokori, Japan enjoys for breakfast? I bet you didn’t know the citizens of Hárkal relish a good fermented shark meat every once in a while… yum. People have a desire to share with others what they know so well, and that is the food that they not only eat every day, but it is the food that is an essential part of their identity. Understanding the foods of the world is one of the best ways to better appreciate the very foods that are a part of your unique identity. Call it “The Food Genome Project,” it’s the first step towards identifying the foods that make you, you.

The standard of "Healthy looking" has been changed as time goes. In the past, people had regarded fat people to be wealthy as well as healthy. However, now healthy-looking people represent the rich and are considered as less lazy and more nimble. To look healthy and fit, people became more curious about whether the food they commonly consume is healthy or not and which foods are more beneficial to their health. Moreover, people of new generation want to be more aware of new type of food that can be more advantageous and healthier, such as superfood. They want to know some foods that have high concentrations of essential nutrients with proven health benefits. People are interested to know the food that can give high benefits with less effort.

"How many calories does it have?" Is a frequently asked question that I have heard people say before eating a meal or biting into a chocolate bar. As a huge food lover, I am probably the only person who does not pay attention to calories, carbs or fat contained in food. Everyone consumes food, and besides helping our hunger and cravings, food energizes us and support us physically and mentally. For example, the most important meal of the day is breakfast. This meal is what gets the body ready for the day and without it the day will seem longer due to tiredness. Studies have shown that kids and teens that eat breakfast have more energy, do better in school and eat healthier throughout the day. What many people, such as people on diets, look for in food are the amount of sugars, carbs, fats and calories. In order to maintain good health and physically appearances, people are cautious with the food they eat. Have you ever noticed that athletes, for example, make sure they eat before practice or any game? Without food, they are not physically and some what mentally prepared for what is about to occur because the body has not gotten its fuel. What people tend to look for in food is ways to overcome tiredness or even stress to gain energy and comfort with one's self. We all look for that in food, like women gaining comfort from chocolate or ice cream. Without food, the society would be full with chaos from tiredness, irritation and anger.

Food is an example of how people can feel so close to home when they live so far away from it. When you think about it, food is one factor that brings us closer together as a family, as friends, or as a community. Why? because when we eat at the dinner table we are not only sharing that special dish your mom cook for you, but you're sharing experiences that create a bond between you and the person you are spending that moment with. Food knows no borders; there are plenty of restaurants in different countries that sell from Mexican to Chinese food, and for people that live in different parts of the world knowing that you can go to those places to eat food that is somewhat really close to what you are used to makes you feel like home.
Today, people are more acceptant and open minded about other countries' traditions. Therefore, when someone else is willing to learn about your culture you can share your knowledge about it with them by cooking your favorite recipe and explaining why is this important to you, how does it make you feel when you prepare it, and why does it remind you of home. Get out of your comfort zone of always eating the same thing just because you are afraid of trying new things. Instead, watch the cooking channel, buy a cooking book or even ask people from other countries to teach you how to prepare a specific dish they know, and when you do, you will realize how there is always something special about each of them that makes the experience worthwhile and unique.

Food can show somebody who you are as a person. It expresses our identity, brings comfort to us, and satisfies our craving needs.Today, it's very important to know what you can and cannot eat. With all the fast food restaurants sprouting across the country, people are becoming more and more unhealthy. Thankfully, many are beginning to realize that this is a problem. To counter this issue people want to know what type of foods they should consume and how to prepare them. They want to know what is healthy, how much it costs, where it comes from, and what it's nutritional values are. People are obsessed with self image, and food is a large factor that can manipulate the way you are. If you can control what you eat, odds are you'll end up with a much healthier and happier lifestyle.

Food is essentially involved in every aspect of our lives. At every event, all occasions, and each individual time of the year food is an item that brings together family and friends. Not just in America but all across the globe, food can serve as comfort. It can bring us back home or journey us to past experiences. It brings back memories, memories of the good and the bad. Thanksgiving meal with the entire family, a slice of pizza with your best friend, or the last cookie that grandma ever made you. But it is not that easy. Individuals have become consumed by the nutritional facts on each small label of every box, container, or bag. Society has become a calorie count, each person striving to end the day with the least amount. The image that our nation has created is sickening. Individuals want to know more, and are becoming more aware of the healthy choices and in bettering their lifestyle. For some, in order to enjoy and recount the memories, they must understand the balance in nutrition behind it.

Food is a key component to societies around the world not only because it provides essential nutrients for life but also because it can influence culture. In recent years, food has been negatively associated with weight gain which inspired a new era of products and entertainment geared toward heath conscious viewers. There has been a growing concern for unhealthy and overweight citizens during the past decade. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention stated, “About one-third of U.S. adults (33.8%) are obese” (www.cdc.gov). Televisions shows that target possible weight loss strategies and tips for those struggling to keep their weight at healthy levels would appeal to a large percent of Americans. In hindsight, television and entertainment has expanded to the point where anything can broadcasted and still draw an audience. The varieties of subtopics dealing with food are endless, allowing for multiple combinations and numerous possibilities.

People really want to know the value of the food. Every kind of food has its own value. The value shows in how much nutrition it has or what kind of nutrition it has. Usually the more valuable the food is the higher price the food has. Also people want to know what behind when a person is eating food. From the type of the food, it is easily to see what kind of person he is and the position that person has. If he is a rich people, he may eat expensive food. People are willing to watch how food related to human. People are like food. When they are happy, each kind of food is delicious. So if people keep happy every day, every thing will not become a problem, people also will have a healthy life. But some time, when people are so hungry, they want to eat food. Just like when people feel bad in daily life, have something fun, recharge yourself, then every thing will have the way to solve.
